Dr. Kegler was born in Columbus, Ohio, and pursued his medical degree at The Ohio State University. He graduated from the Ohio State College of Medicine in 1997. Following his graduation, he completed a transitional general medicine internship at Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, in 1998. He then went on to complete an ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University in 2001, where he served as Chief Resident from 2000 to 2001.
